Hello, I’m Carla

I’m a passionate storyteller who operates with a balance of creativity, strategy, and execution.

Storytelling is the through line in my career. I started in journalism because it gave me the opportunity to amplify voices and use stories to provide information and help. As a news producer, I had the privilege of working for top media outlets such as NBC News in San Diego and Al Jazeera (AJ+). At NBC, I produced the Emmy-nominated news special Forecasting El Nino. At AJ+, I conceptualized, curated, and managed the end-to-end production of the Food that Matters series.

As I shifted my career into marketing roles, my storytelling evolved from amplifying individual voices to an entire business. Through content, I help bring a brand’s identity to life.

Throughout my marketing career, I oversaw U.S. marketing and global communications for Eatwith — a Paris-based startup that connects travelers with locals through culinary experiences around the world. In this role, I helped raise brand awareness through managing the day-to-day newsletters, social media content, and company communications. I also served as the point-person for marketing partnerships with brands such as Masterchef USA, Tastemade, and Barilla USA

I’m currently a Web & Content Marketing Manager at Nextdoor, where I create educational and inspiring content to help small businesses grow at a local level.

When it comes to storytelling , think of me as a Swiss Army knife. Whether it’s writing, video producing and editing, hosting webinars, content planning, social media management, or event production, I do it all from a place of creative and strategic thinking.

In my downtime you’ll find me snuggling with my cat Monty and dog Lucas, traveling with my husband, decorating (and redecorating) my home, getting certified in interior design, running, hiking, and doing barre or yoga.
